God's Prosperity Blueprint

Deuteronomy 8:18: "But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today." This verse emphasizes that wealth and resources come from God and are part of His divine design for our lives. Recognizing this helps Christians approach money with gratitude and responsibility.

Harness the Wisdom of Biblical Principles to Break-free from Debt

Proverbs 22:7: "The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender." This scripture illustrates the bondage that debt can create, highlighting the importance of seeking freedom from financial obligations. Encouraging believers to avoid unnecessary debt aligns with biblical wisdom.

I've Seen Both Sides of the Wealth Gap

For some, the path to purpose is a straight, well-lit road. For J R Outlaw, the founder of the Kingdom Financial Stewardship Academy (KFSA), the journey was a winding path, marked by scarcity, struggle, and an unshakeable faith that turned trials into triumph. His story is not one of inherited wealth or privileged education but of a young man from the humblest beginnings who, through divine guidance and relentless perseverance, discovered the profound connection between faith and financial freedom. J R Outlaw’s life began in a world where the principles of wealth management were foreign. Raised in a family living below the poverty line, his childhood was defined by public housing and reliance on public assistance. Money was a source of constant anxiety, a topic enveloped in silence. There were no dinner-table discussions about budgeting, saving, or investing; just the daily struggle to make ends meet. This environment instilled in him a deep-seated uncertainty about his future and a significant misunderstanding of money’s true purpose. “Coming of age was extremely difficult financially,” J R Outlaw recalls, his voice tinged with the weight of experience. “Most of what I learned about money came through painful trial and error.” After high school, the prospect of further education loomed dauntingly. He felt a sense of inadequacy and lack of direction, grappling with fundamental questions: What is money? How does it work? What role was it meant to play in his life? The turning point in J R’s narrative, as is often the case in transformative journeys, arrived unexpectedly. At 18, he enrolled at the Katherine Gibbs School of Business, taking a tentative step toward a different future. Unbeknownst to him, the school was a for-profit institution—a fact that would later have significant consequences. They exploited his lack of financial literacy, continually pushing out his course completion date while seeking a buyer, ultimately leaving him with burdensome student loans when the school closed before he could graduate. Yet, within this setback lay a pivotal opportunity. Attending a job fair at the school, J R approached a booth for a local bank, driven by a mix of hope and trepidation. With no connections or experience, applying for his first banking job felt like stepping into a new world. This application was more than a bid for employment; it was his first faltering step onto the path of financial literacy—an act of faith instilled in him since childhood. Throughout his life, his mother had taught him a powerful prayer: “God, speak to me, through me, and for me. Go before me on this day, lead me, guide me, and direct me.” This prayer became a compass for his journey, guiding him through challenges he could not have anticipated. Complementing this daily prayer was the scripture that would become the bedrock of his life and ministry: Proverbs 3:5-6. “Lean not to thy own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge God, and He shall direct thy path.” However, divine direction did not grant immunity from hardship. The early years of his career were a crucible. As he began to earn a steady income, the allure of credit and societal pressures led him down a treacherous road. He accumulated significant credit card debt, faced the humiliation of a car repossession, and watched his credit score plummet due to charge-offs. These burdens were not mere financial failures; they were lessons in disguise. Each setback reminded him of the principles he had yet to master and propelled him to lean more heavily on his faith. Starting as a part-time teller was a humble entry into the banking world. But with each passing year, his understanding deepened, and his career advanced. Over two decades, he climbed the corporate ladder, moving from customer service to the intricate back-end operations of the financial industry. Now, at 40, J R Outlaw serves as a Business Analyst in the Wealth segment of one of the top ten banks in the country. This position has given him a rare glimpse into how the wealthy manage their money, revealing a stark contrast between the financial realities of his upbringing and the possibilities that exist. Throughout this journey, J R recognized the importance of formal education as well. He eventually obtained a Bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix, a milestone that symbolized not just personal achievement but a commitment to lifelong learning and growing in financial literacy. This academic accomplishment, paired with his extensive real-world experience, further equipped him to serve others in their financial journeys. It was this revelation that planted the seed for the Kingdom Financial Stewardship Academy. J R saw with painful clarity the disparity in financial knowledge that prevents many from achieving their full potential. “Too many people are falling behind or not advancing due to a lack of financial knowledge and understanding,” he explains, his passion palpable. He realized that his entire life—the poverty, the struggles, the unexpected career, and his ultimate success—had prepared him for a greater purpose. He founded KFSA with a mission to bridge this gap, to impart the principles of financial stewardship to those who, like him, were never taught. Yet, his vision extended beyond a mere financial literacy program. He recognized that true, lasting financial freedom involved understanding the biblical principles God provides. KFSA was designed to be a sanctuary where faith and finances intersect, enabling individuals to uncover the abundant blessings that come from aligning their financial lives with God's word. J R Outlaw’s story stands as a testament to the transformative power of faith. It is a narrative of a young boy who grew up with nothing, who dared to pray for guidance, and who was led on an unexpected journey to purpose and abundance. His story reminds us that our past does not have to define our future. With faith, knowledge, and a willingness to learn, we can all become good stewards of the resources entrusted to us by God. His journey is the heart of KFSA, and his experiences form the foundation upon which the academy is built—a beacon of hope for all who seek a better financial future.
